Wedding Hairpiece

I made my own wedding hair piece!!!!! :) :) :)

I made it with a Rooster feather appliqué ($2 from Etsy) and I glued gunned 3 sets of Ostrich feathers ($4.50 on Etsy for 7-8 sets). I temporarily pinned a rhinestone brooch (about $5 from Michaels with coupon)... I looked around everywhere for one that was light, pretty and not pricey... just to cover the base of the Ostrich feather attachments. I had to yank a few Rooster feathers off the top of the appliqué because I thought it made the hairpiece look "too long". I looove the whimsical-ness of the Ostrich feathers!!! They're so wispy!!! An alligator clip was glued to back of appliqué so the hairpiece stays put in my hair. My fiancé was pretty impressed! David's Bridal sells these for at least $80!

I will not take a picture of it in my hair and post... It's a surprise for the big day!!!

Guest Sign In Book

I've been searching for an acid-free lignin-free black paged album for a while. I thought I had one in my "too-nice-to-use-now-so-save-for-later stash" but unfortunately it wasn't there. :( So what's the solution, as always? Make one yourself!!! :)

I kept the cover simple because post-wedding I might want to change it up.

Guests will take Instant photos, insert them into the photo corners and then leave us a love note with a white gel pen. :)

The back cover.

I finally got to use my embarrassingly few years old Bind-It-All machine for the first time! Love it! Wish I had used it sooner!!!

My inspiration? My new Smash book for my wedding knick knacks. :)

Sending LOVE to a good friend :)

I guess I can post this now that my friend received my card :)

I hand wrote love on all the hearts on the card... And wrote inside... "Sending all the LOVE that I can send!" :)

The Lost Art of Handwritten Mail

After writing a third of my wedding guest addresses on envelopes, I felt carpel tunnel in my left hand from holding a ruler... felt high on Sharpies... was surrounded by eraser dust all over the table and floor. Boy, people better appreciate the lost art of handwritten mail! I just wish I had thought of buying vintage stamps for the envelopes. Oh well, next wedding! Kidding! :P

I learned how to make this from a recent posting on Pinterest. One snowed-in weekend, $5 worth of jump rings, one fab necklace!!! :)

Christmas Memories

I love spending the holidays with my fiancé's family! It's been a while since I scrapbooked. One of my New Years Resolutions is to get back into scrapbooking and treasure special moments like these! :)

The picture doesn't really show it but the little ornaments up at the top spells "merry xmas". :P
